Anyone who's ever even a book published? Anyone who has been a subsidy publisher?

I know it's difficult to publish the traditional. I have an offer from a subsidy publisher. Remember, this is not a full-color saddle stitched book for children () black and white. They want $ 4000 from me. I also have a self-publishing. I work on it, as quoted by printers. I've heard, not just bookstores do not want self-published books because you can with $ $ sp, but that they believe it will be difficult to obtain them. Perhaps it is worthwhile taking a print for a few shops and talk or something in school, etc. I can only continue to publish it traditionally has been (rejectec twice). Not sure. I have mixed feelings.
