Raining! I teach riding lessons and have not completed arena. What should I do for the instructional design for?
I teach riding lessons and when it rains), students (children and adults do not want to cancel. The soil is too wet for the horses and my direction is wet. What should I in the barn to do for the teaching? I need ideas. Yesterday I learned about nutrition and talked about various popular diets for horses. We talked about corn, different types of hay, straw, as they say, good from bad. What should I do? Only other idea I have is the saddle-fitting. Lesson is one hour. Ideas please!??
Back in the early 1980s, I developed a lesson plan for just such events (used for the cause of the barn owners CRAZY "I was still Makin 'money drive.). The owner of the rental of horses LOVED it 'cause all her turning point came thoroughly cleaned! I would have the children take the saddles and bridles of the horses they rode and they clean! As it has dismantled it (this was FUN), I would explain what that meant each piece and as in the use of any image. While you're at it, pull some old bits too! Toss' em to the children and ask what they are. (I had a lot of Fun with a double twisted wire snaffle full cheek …).
